Sweaters for Penguins

Blue penguins in New Zealand are having trouble keeping warm after an oil container ship ran aground earlier this month. The oil spill has damaged the penguins feathers and in an effort to keep them cozy, a New Zealand knitting shop is running a one of a kind campaign.

Skeins is helping the blue penguins by organizing a sweater drive to help protect the birds, keep them warm and prevent them from preening their feathers and ingesting the toxic oil.

Penguins are cute enough as it is… penguins in sweaters are just off the charts. What a great way to help!
